BJP wins in Godda by 4,512 votes: Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2019

Amit Kumar Mandal of BJP beats RJD's Sanjay Prasad Yadav in Godda

BJP won Godda, defeating second-placed RJD by 4512 votes. It had also won Godda in the previous election, and retained the seat with a narrow margin.

Godda is in the Santhal Pargana region of Jharkhand. It is a predominantly rural constituency.

Amit Kumar Mandal of the BJP received 45.7% of the vote, compared to 43.4% of the RJD's Sanjay Prasad Yadav. BJP's voteshare fell by 3.8% from 2014, while RJD's voteshare increased by 13.5%.

The constituency saw a 2-cornered contest, with Bharatiya Janata Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal all getting a voteshare of 10% of more.
