BJP wins in Kalyan East by 12,257 votes: Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019

Ganpat Kalu Gaikwad of BJP beats Independent's Dhananjay Baburao Bodare Alias Aaba in Kalyan East

BJP won Kalyan East, defeating second-placed Independent by 12257 votes. An independent candidate had won this constituency in the previous election, but BJP took control of the seat with a comfortable margin in this election.

Kalyan East is in the Thane Konkan region of Maharashtra. It is a predominantly urban constituency.

Ganpat Kalu Gaikwad of the BJP received 39.9% of the vote, compared to 31.8% of the Independent's Dhananjay Baburao Bodare Alias Aaba. BJP's voteshare increased by 19.7% from 2014, while Independent's voteshare remained unchanged -.

The constituency saw a 3-cornered contest, with Bharatiya Janata Party, Independent, Nationalist Congress Party all getting a voteshare of 10% of more.
