BJP wins in Thane by 19,424 votes: Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019

Kelkar Sanjay Mukund of BJP beats Maharashtra Navnirman sena's Avinash Anant Jadhav in Thane

BJP won Thane, defeating second-placed Maharashtra Navnirman sena by 19424 votes. It had also won Thane in the previous election, and retained the seat with a comfortable margin.

Thane is in the Thane Konkan region of Maharashtra. It is a predominantly urban constituency.

Kelkar Sanjay Mukund of the BJP received 51.8% of the vote, compared to 40.9% of the Maharashtra Navnirman sena's Avinash Anant Jadhav. BJP's voteshare increased by 12.5% from 2014, while Maharashtra Navnirman sena's voteshare increased by 40.9%.

The constituency saw a 2-cornered contest, with Bharatiya Janata Party, Maharashtra Navnirman sena all getting a voteshare of 10% of more.
