NCP won Mumbra-Kalwa, defeating second-placed Shiv Sena by 75639 votes. It had also won Mumbra-Kalwa in the previous election, and retained the seat with a landslide margin.
Mumbra-Kalwa is in the Thane Konkan region of Maharashtra. It is a predominantly urban constituency. In Mumbra-Kalwa, the Muslim community is a major voting block.
Awhad Jitendra Satish of the NCP received 61.0% of the vote, compared to 18.8% of the Shiv Sena's Deepali Jahangir Sayed. NCP's voteshare increased by 8.1% from 2014, while Shiv Sena's voteshare fell by 4.9%.
The constituency saw a 3-cornered contest, with Nationalist Congress Party, Shiv Sena, Aam Aadmi Party all getting a voteshare of 10% of more.
