BJP won Belapur, defeating second-placed NCP by 43597 votes. It had also won Belapur in the previous election, and retained the seat with a landslide margin.
Belapur is in the Thane Konkan region of Maharashtra. It is a predominantly urban constituency.
Manda Vijay Mhatre of the BJP received 50.3% of the vote, compared to 25.4% of the NCP's Ashok Ankush Gawade. BJP's voteshare increased by 20.9% from 2014, while NCP's voteshare fell by 3.2%.
The constituency saw a 3-cornered contest, with Bharatiya Janata Party, Nationalist Congress Party, Maharashtra Navnirman sena all getting a voteshare of 10% of more.
