Congress wins in Malad West by 10,383 votes: Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019

Aslam Ramzanali Shaikh of Congress beats BJP's Thakur Ramesh Singh in Malad West

Congress won Malad West, defeating second-placed BJP by 10383 votes. It had also won Malad West in the previous election, and retained the seat with a comfortable margin.

Malad West is in the Mumbai region of Maharashtra. It is a predominantly urban constituency.

Aslam Ramzanali Shaikh of the Congress received 50.9% of the vote, compared to 44.2% of the BJP's Thakur Ramesh Singh. Congress's voteshare increased by 13.2% from 2014, while BJP's voteshare increased by 8.0%.

The constituency saw a 2-cornered contest, with Indian National Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party all getting a voteshare of 10% of more.
