BJP wins in Andheri West by 18,962 votes: Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019

Ameet Bhaskar Satam of BJP beats Congress's Ashok Bhau Jadhav in Andheri West

BJP won Andheri West, defeating second-placed Congress by 18962 votes. It had also won Andheri West in the previous election, and retained the seat with a comfortable margin.

Andheri West is in the Mumbai region of Maharashtra. It is a predominantly urban constituency. In Andheri West, the Muslim community is a major voting block.

Ameet Bhaskar Satam of the BJP received 49.2% of the vote, compared to 35.0% of the Congress's Ashok Bhau Jadhav. BJP's voteshare increased by 7.7% from 2014, while Congress's voteshare increased by 10.4%.

The constituency saw a 2-cornered contest, with Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress all getting a voteshare of 10% of more.
