BJP wins in Ghatkopar East by 53,319 votes: Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019

Parag Shah of BJP beats Maharashtra Navnirman sena's Satish Sitaram Pawar in Ghatkopar East

BJP won Ghatkopar East, defeating second-placed Maharashtra Navnirman sena by 53319 votes. It had also won Ghatkopar East in the previous election, and retained the seat with a landslide margin.

Ghatkopar East is in the Mumbai region of Maharashtra. It is a predominantly urban constituency.

Parag Shah of the BJP received 57.7% of the vote, compared to 15.6% of the Maharashtra Navnirman sena's Satish Sitaram Pawar. BJP's voteshare increased by 9.2% from 2014, while Maharashtra Navnirman sena's voteshare increased by 15.6%.

The constituency saw a 3-cornered contest, with Bharatiya Janata Party, Maharashtra Navnirman sena, Indian National Congress all getting a voteshare of 10% of more.
