Shiv Sena won Chembur, defeating second-placed Congress by 19018 votes. It had also won Chembur in the previous election, and retained the seat with a comfortable margin.

Prakash Vaikunth Phaterpekar of the Shiv Sena received 40.2% of the vote, compared to 25.8% of the Congress's Chandrakant Damodar Handore. Shiv Sena's voteshare increased by 5.2% from 2014, while Congress's voteshare fell by 1.8%.
