Shiv Sena wins in Chembur by 19,018 votes: Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019

Prakash Vaikunth Phaterpekar of Shiv Sena beats Congress's Chandrakant Damodar Handore in Chembur

Shiv Sena won Chembur, defeating second-placed Congress by 19018 votes. It had also won Chembur in the previous election, and retained the seat with a comfortable margin.

Chembur is in the Mumbai region of Maharashtra. It is a predominantly urban constituency.

Prakash Vaikunth Phaterpekar of the Shiv Sena received 40.2% of the vote, compared to 25.8% of the Congress's Chandrakant Damodar Handore. Shiv Sena's voteshare increased by 5.2% from 2014, while Congress's voteshare fell by 1.8%.

The constituency saw a 4-cornered contest, with Shiv Sena, Indian National Congress, Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi, Maharashtra Navnirman sena all getting a voteshare of 10% of more.
