Shiv Sena won Kurla, defeating second-placed NCP by 21013 votes. It had also won Kurla in the previous election, and retained the seat with a landslide margin.
Kurla is in the Mumbai region of Maharashtra. It is also a constituency reserved for SC candidates, and is a predominantly urban constituency. In Kurla, the Muslim community is a major voting block.
Mangesh Kudalkar of the Shiv Sena received 44.6% of the vote, compared to 27.6% of the NCP's Milind (Anna) Bhupal Kamble. Shiv Sena's voteshare increased by 13.3% from 2014, while NCP's voteshare increased by 16.9%.
The constituency saw a 3-cornered contest, with Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party, All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen all getting a voteshare of 10% of more.
