BJP wins in Sion Koliwada by 13,951 votes: Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019

Captain R Tamil Selvan of BJP beats Congress's Ganesh Kumar Yadav in Sion Koliwada

BJP won Sion Koliwada, defeating second-placed Congress by 13951 votes. It had also won Sion Koliwada in the previous election, and retained the seat with a comfortable margin.

Sion Koliwada is in the Mumbai region of Maharashtra. It is a predominantly urban constituency.

Captain R Tamil Selvan of the BJP received 42.2% of the vote, compared to 31.5% of the Congress's Ganesh Kumar Yadav. BJP's voteshare increased by 11.4% from 2014, while Congress's voteshare increased by 14.1%.

The constituency saw a 3-cornered contest, with Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress, Maharashtra Navnirman sena all getting a voteshare of 10% of more.
