Congress wins in Mumbadevi by 23,655 votes: Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019

Amin Patel of Congress beats Shiv Sena's Pandurang Ganpat Sakpal in Mumbadevi

Congress won Mumbadevi, defeating second-placed Shiv Sena by 23655 votes. It had also won Mumbadevi in the previous election, and retained the seat with a landslide margin.

Mumbadevi is in the Mumbai region of Maharashtra. It is a predominantly urban constituency. In Mumbadevi, the Muslim community is a major voting block.

Amin Patel of the Congress received 54.9% of the vote, compared to 32.9% of the Shiv Sena's Pandurang Ganpat Sakpal. Congress's voteshare increased by 19.1% from 2014, while Shiv Sena's voteshare increased by 18.8%.

The constituency saw a 2-cornered contest, with Indian National Congress, Shiv Sena all getting a voteshare of 10% of more.
