BJP wins in Nagpur South by 4,013 votes: Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019

Mohan Gopalrao Mate of BJP beats Congress's Girish Krushnarao Pandav in Nagpur South

BJP won Nagpur South, defeating second-placed Congress by 4013 votes. It had also won Nagpur South in the previous election, and retained the seat with a narrow margin.

Nagpur South is in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. It is a predominantly urban constituency.

Mohan Gopalrao Mate of the BJP received 43.6% of the vote, compared to 41.5% of the Congress's Girish Krushnarao Pandav. BJP's voteshare fell by 1.0% from 2014, while Congress's voteshare increased by 20.6%.

The constituency saw a 2-cornered contest, with Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress all getting a voteshare of 10% of more.
