BJP wins in Nagpur East by 24,017 votes: Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019

Krushna Pancham Khopde of BJP beats Congress's Purushottam Nagorao Hajare in Nagpur East

BJP won Nagpur East, defeating second-placed Congress by 24017 votes. It had also won Nagpur East in the previous election, and retained the seat with a comfortable margin.

Nagpur East is in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. It is a predominantly urban constituency.

Krushna Pancham Khopde of the BJP received 52.4% of the vote, compared to 40.3% of the Congress's Purushottam Nagorao Hajare. BJP's voteshare fell by 1.6% from 2014, while Congress's voteshare increased by 12.8%.

The constituency saw a 2-cornered contest, with Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress all getting a voteshare of 10% of more.
