Bharatiya Janata Party-Shiv Sena combine leading in Greater Mumbai region with 42 out of 51 seats

1. The Seatshare Story
NDA won 42 of the total 51 seats - an increase of 2 seats from the 2014 election. UPA came in second: it bagged 6 seats, a fall of 2 from the previous election.
2. Vote share
OTH's voteshare was 28.2%, an increase of 10.3% from the previous election. BJP had 27.9% voteshare: a fall of 4.5% from the previous election. Shiv Sena had 21.5% voteshare: a fall of 4.5% from the previous election. Congress had 16.5% voteshare: an increase of 1.7% from the previous election.
3. Margin of victory
The median margin of victory increased from 12.4% in 2014 to 20.0%, indicating a relatively less competitive election.
BJP had a relatively high median victory margin of 28.0%, and won most of the seats it contested with a comfortable margin. NCP, Shiv Sena had victory margins of 25.5%, 19.5% respectively. Congress had a relatively low median victory margin of 7.5%, and won most of the seats it did with a narrow margin.
